Parenting is hard. Mothering is hard, even though I have been at it for almost seven years now. The one thing I think I have down (feeding the family) sometimes doesn’t go right when the orange chicken is “too orangey” or the fruit in their lunch wasn’t their favorite fruit this week. Most days I think I am going about it all wrong and then I realize that the important things are happening: I am loving them as much as I can. At a time when I feel like I am at a parenting crossroads with needing to transition from mothering preschoolers to mothering school-age children I heard about Brooke McGothlin and her faith-based approach to parenting. Her Gospel-Centered Mom is the perfect book to help me stay grounded in what really matters and approach parenting in a more gospel-focused way. I know I will read this book again and again as I enter new parenting stages. Thank you, Brooke McGothlin, for sharing your charism with the rest of us moms!
